Empowering Communities Through Sustainable Economic Development
Tamil Nadu Backward Classes Economic Development Corporation (TABCEDCO) provides financial assistance at concessional rates of interest to individuals and groups belonging to Backward Classes (BC), Most Backward Classes (MBC) and Denotified Communities (DNC) for establishing viable trades, businesses and income-generating activities aimed at their socio-economic upliftment.
Established in 1982, TABCEDCO is a State Government undertaking registered under the Companies Act, 1956. The Corporation has an authorized share capital of ₹30 Crore and a paid-up capital of ₹12.27 Crore.
TABCEDCO functions as the State Channelizing Agency of the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC), New Delhi. Through Government-backed guarantees, the Corporation mobilizes financial resources to implement various welfare-oriented loan schemes across Tamil Nadu.
TABCEDCO was awarded the Performance Award (Bronze) for the year 2018-2019 by the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation, New Delhi, in recognition of its outstanding performance at the national level.
The award was presented by the Hon’ble Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India during the National Conference held on 13 January 2020.
To promote sustainable socio-economic development of Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities by providing accessible, affordable and timely financial assistance for entrepreneurship, self-employment and livelihood enhancement activities across Tamil Nadu.
