About TABCEDCO

Tamilnadu Backward Classes Economic Development Corporation (TABCEDCO) sanctions financial assistance at lower rates of interest to individuals, Groups belonging to Backward classes, Most Backward classes and Denotified communities for establishing viable trade or business for their economic upliftment. The corporation was established in the year 1982. It is a state-owned company registered under the Companies Act, 1956. The corporation has an authorized share capital of Rs. 30 crore and a paid-up capital of Rs.12.27 crore. The corporation has been acting as the stated channelizing agency of the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation and obtains loan from the latter upon the Guarantee given by the Tamilnadu Government for funding various loan schemes.

Drip Irrigation Facility

Purpose: This loan supports water-efficient farming practices through drip or sprinkler irrigation systems and micro-irrigation techniques for horticultural crops. It helps farmers save water and improve crop yield, promoting sustainable farming.

Eligibility

Small or marginal farmers adopting water-saving techniques. Preference is given to farmers involved in horticulture or agriculture in regions facing water scarcity.

Loan Usage

The loan is used for installing drip/sprinkler irrigation systems to reduce water wastage and improve irrigation efficiency.

Agriculture & Allied Activities

Purpose: This loan category supports farming activities including crop cultivation (paddy, vegetables, fruits), dairy farming, poultry, fisheries, apiculture (beekeeping), organic farming, and vermicompost production. It aims to improve agricultural productivity and the livelihoods of farmers.

Eligibility

Farmers, agricultural laborers, and SHGs who are engaged in farming and agriculture-related activities. Individuals with an agricultural background or vocational training in agriculture are preferred.

Loan Usage

The loan can be used to buy seeds, fertilizers, livestock, farm machinery, or irrigation equipment to enhance agricultural production.

Self-Employment

Purpose: This loan encourages entrepreneurship in small businesses such as beauty parlors, salons, coaching centers, catering services, digital printing, photocopy shops, and repair services. It aims to provide livelihood opportunities to unemployed youth and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Eligibility

Unemployed youth or SHGs with vocational training in the specific business area. The applicant should demonstrate a clear business plan and ability to repay the loan.

Loan Usage

The loan can be used for business setup, purchasing equipment, or for skill development to enhance business potential.

Transport Sector

Purpose: Provides financial aid for purchasing vehicles to generate income. This includes auto-rickshaws, taxis, mini-trucks, e-vehicles, and goods carriers. It helps individuals and SHGs start or expand transportation businesses, creating job opportunities in rural and urban areas.

Eligibility

Individuals with a valid driving license and SHGs involved in transportation services. The applicant should also have a plan for vehicle usage and business sustainability.

Loan Usage

The loan can be used as a down payment for purchasing vehicles or to set up a transport business.

Small Trade / Business

Purpose: Financial assistance for setting up or expanding small businesses like grocery shops, tailoring units, mobile repair shops, stationery stores, etc. This helps individuals and groups in urban and rural areas engage in trade and business, improving livelihoods.

Eligibility

Individuals or Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from backward classes who have a viable business plan or idea. The applicant should demonstrate the potential for business growth and sustainability.

Loan Usage

The loan can be used for working capital, purchasing inventory, business equipment, or for expanding an existing business.

Handicrafts and Traditional Occupations

Purpose: This loan sector supports traditional artisans and craftsmen in fields such as handloom weaving, pottery, basket weaving, jewelry making, wood carving, and leather crafts. It promotes the revival and sustainability of indigenous arts and crafts.

Eligibility

Artisans from backward communities who possess skills in traditional crafts. SHGs involved in handicraft production are also eligible to apply for loans.

Loan Usage

The loan can be used for purchasing raw materials, tools, or for marketing the products of traditional occupations. It can also help establish or expand handicraft-based micro-enterprises.
